Very Short But Amazing Speech by Coca Cola CEO Bryan Dyson

March 1, 2010

“Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them – Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the Air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back.

But the other four Balls – Family, Health, Friends and Spirit – are made of glass. If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it.”

WORK EFFICIENTLY DURING OFFICE HOURS AND LEAVE ON TIME. GIVE THE REQUIRED TIME TO YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS & HAVE PROPER REST.

This holds true even if you own your business! Time for me to take a break and take my girlfriend out tonight :)

wow awsome speech

Nice speech indeed!

I am sharing my honest opinion on it. I think there is another thing let’s say this as the referee’s whistle(MONEY) which control all those balls. So eventually if your whistle is good all balls will be under control else you know what gonna happen :)

Giving sufficient time in family is very important. I think it should be the 2nd priority after work. If you don’t work properly, you can’t survive and enjoy with your family. And if you don’t give proper time to your family, your family members may think you’re getting far away from them day by day.

Amazing indeed when one knows what the quality of the beverage is… not!

The first part (the 5 balls) is from the the book “Suzanne’s Diary to Nicholas” by James Patterson , page 20 of the hardcover edition.

And why is it then that all Coca Cola employees at South Latin and Latin Center work overtime every day?

Mario April 1, 2010 at 6:24 am

Hey jm…you are wrong. James patterson borrowed it from Dyson for his book, and never gave credit. Dyson gave the speech that created the meme many years ago at Georgia tech

This speech is amazing . From my point of view Work is a gift of GOD and other 4 things should be maintain by this GOD gift .
